Semester at Sea Preview

I'll be travelling this fall with my family and 600 college students (and lots of others, of course), by ship, around the world! Almost a year ago I was selected (I pestered them into accepting me-my usual tactic) to be the ship physician for Semester at Sea . In December, I hired nurses that had applied for the voyage. Shots for our family got going in February. We found out that Retired South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu would be along for the entire voyage in March. Earlier this month I submitted the 40 pages and $2000 for visas for the adventure.

We're making arrangements now to meet the ship in Norfolk, VA on August 22 to start the orientation.

Mountain Family has been great about letting me take a break. I'll miss my patients (really!), but we've got lots of other docs to cover while I'm gone. I'm hoping all my patients will find me again after I get back. Perhaps they'll want to follow along here!
